About MÉNOS

Ménos" means "Mind" in ancient Greek, "Less" in Latin. In the age of image and utilitarianism, from our mind to our world, from each of us to the whole group, we aim to take photography to reality and make it pure.

MÉNOS was established in 2018 with a commitment to promoting local photographic cultural exchanges. The collective organizes photo-sharing sessions and community welfare activities for both young people and the elderly. Within a year of its formation, the group gathered works from various members and published the photo album Prologue, themed "Hong Kong Street," to honor the overlooked individuals of the city.

The members come from diverse backgrounds, including film directors, university lecturers, and construction workers, capturing unique perspectives based on their social positions.

《Prologue: HK Street》

The debut photobook serves as a visual manifesto for the city’s overlooked narratives. The central theme of Prologue is a commitment to documenting  'forgotten people of Hong Kong.' More than just an artistic record, the book establishes the collective’s mission to bridge creative practice with social advocacy and community outreach.
